Info Edge: Sanjeev Bikhchandani to Take Over as Group CEO
Hitesh Oberoi will step down as Info Edge MD and CEO on 2 December; founder Sanjeev Bikhchandani becomes MD and group CEO from 3 December.

Info Edge (India), the company behind Naukri.com and 99acres, has announced a leadership change at the top. Founder Sanjeev Bikhchandani will take over as Executive Vice Chairman, Managing Director and Group CEO from 3 December 2026, as Hitesh Oberoi steps down as MD and CEO.
Oberoi exits after nearly 27 years
Oberoi will step down at the close of business on 2 December 2026. He joined Info Edge in 2000 as chief operating officer and director and has spent nearly 27 years in a full-time executive role. He will stay on the board as a non-executive, non-independent director from 3 December, subject to shareholder approval.
Oberoi said he is leaving to spend more time on interests in education, entrepreneurship, institution building, investing and philanthropy. During his time as CEO, Info Edge’s market capitalisation grew from about ₹2,500 crore to around ₹80,000 crore.
Founder returns to the top job
Bikhchandani’s new role is subject to shareholder approval. He said the company has not yet decided on its wider top management structure and that he will consult Oberoi, the board’s nomination and remuneration committee and senior employees, with priority given to growing internal talent.
Strong Q2 FY27 numbers
The change was announced alongside the company’s results for the September quarter. Consolidated net profit rose 87% year on year to ₹649.8 crore, while revenue from operations grew 12.2% to ₹903.9 crore. The board declared an interim dividend of ₹3 per share, with a record date of 6 November 2026.
Oberoi highlighted that Naukri’s AI and data strategy is now generating revenue, 99acres has become cash-generating, and Jeevansathi and Aisle have turned profitable.
