Swiss-headquartered energy company MET Group has appointed Esther Ang as chief executive officer of MET Asia, its Singapore-based regional platform. The appointment was announced on 21 October and took effect on 1 November 2026.

Nine years at MET Group

Ang, a Singaporean citizen, has spent nine years with MET Group. Before taking up the CEO role she was Head of LNG Origination on the LNG desk of MET International, where she played a key role in expanding the group’s liquefied natural gas business and its global reach, with a focus on origination across the LNG value chain.

Her mandate

As CEO, Ang leads the development of MET Group’s origination and trading activities across Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia. MET Group did not name the executive she succeeds.

Ang described Asia as one of the most important energy markets in the world, with significant room for growth. She said she plans to work with colleagues to build trust with partners and widen the group’s regional and global collaborations.

About MET Asia

MET Asia was set up in Singapore in 2023 as MET Group’s regional hub. It focuses on LNG and wider energy activities across Asia-Pacific, supports the group’s global LNG trading, and pursues selective investments in energy infrastructure, renewables and flexibility assets. MET Group itself is headquartered in Baar, Switzerland.
